It is with
great sadness that we must inform the world that our beloved project will soon
be taking an indefinite break.
Duty Now
took over our lives for the last three years and we’ve had a thrilling journey
from our red-wine-fuelled raggatronic horror noise sessions at the Apocalypse
studios in Radcliffe all the way to our current dazed and confused but still
smiling state.
The project
was always far too ambitious for its own good and the inevitable has happened,
we got tired of lifting all John’s stupid equipment.
It would be
easy to slate all the people we feel did us wrong or start a rant about the
appalling state of the British music industry but as anyone who knows us will
testify, we’re nice people so we’ll be keeping all that to ourselves.
All members
are likely to continue in other musical adventures, our website will stay where
it as a memorial to our madness and will be updated occasionally with news of
who is doing what.
We have one
gig left which is at the Castle Hotel on Oldham street this Sunday at 5pm, we’d love to see as many people
down there as possible to give us a good send off.
We’ll also
be putting together a CD of all our recordings which will be available through
our website dutynow.co.uk very soon for cheap or free.
We would
like to thank the following people and promoters in no particular order for helping
us along the way and believing in us-
Keir
Stewart and Inch studios, Holly Holster and her magical Tardis car, Keith Yong,
Sarah Unwin the drum goddess, manchestermusic.co.uk, Cath Aubergine, Popcult,
Fiction non Fiction, Beat Promotions, Save Yourself, Bang Bang RnR, Into the
Black, Damien @ the Castle, Akoustik Anarkhy, Blueprint Studios, Apocalypse
Studios, our girlfriends for putting up with not seeing us much and finally all
the bands we’ve played with and love (too many to list but you know who you
are).
Sorry if we
missed anyone, we love you too.
